Your story, well told
As a copywriter, my approach is simple. I start by asking what your story is. Then, I make sure I tell it well.
I like a good story well told.
Mark Twain
Why would I focus on stories as a copywriter? As humans, we create meaning through narrative. If your story is a good one, and it is well told, it creates a sense of connection. This is as true for brands, causes, services and products as it is for fiction.
A good story will tell your clients who you are and what you represent. A good story well told can shift perception, or lead to action.
A story doesn’t have to be a novel. It may be a 50 word blurb, or a 500 word blog. It might be a flyer to provide information to travellers or local residents, a Facebook post to promote an event, an eDM to create awareness of an issue, raise funds for a cause, or sell a product or destination.
